Semester 1 - Architect's House ProjectÂ
One of my first projects' in my first year of Architecture at University of Nottingham was to research and recreate an iconic building chosen by the tutors. Our task was to present plans, sections and elevations alongside a physical model that represents Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye. This task honed in my drawing and model-making skills in a precise manner.
Semester 1 - Artists' House
In this project, we were tasked to create a studio and living space for a specific artist that we have chosen. My programme was based on contemporary Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami. Our designs were based off a pre-requisite model that acted as a 'design generator' to help guide the schemes' architectural style.
Semester 2 - Comprehensive Design Project
This project finished the year by combining all the skill's we had practiced throughout each semester. Our brief was limited to a few specific topics that we had to develop our programme around. I chose the 'urban retreat' due to the site being in Nottingham, an already developed urban area that lacked a place that provides a sense of calmness.
